Many people have been asking the questions about secession. It seems that the education they were provided with in the public schools have been deficient in their coverage of the topic. Many people in Texas know that Texas left the Union but are in the dark as to the why and how of that event. Like any declaration of Independence, the declaration of secession included a list of the wrongs done to Texas by the Federal government. among these are failure to protect the border, Presidents being elected by sectional populations (e.g. portions of the nation rather than the nation as a whole), the failure of the government to be responsive to the needs of Texas, the imposition of policies and beliefs on Texas that are alien to the citizenry. There were many other reasons as well, yet these could have been written pertaining to the Obama regime.
If we had to construct a 2009 list, the list might include:
1. Unconstitutional imposition of abortion on the citizens of Texas
2. Unconstitutional imposition of the income tax
3. Failure to protect the border
4. Illegal imposition of gun control laws in violation of the right to bear arms.
5. Imposing debt upon the population when the representatives and citizenry were opposed to it (Taxation without representation).
6. Forced resettling of foreign immigrants in Texas communities
7. Use of taxpayer monies for projects that are regional or local interest rather than of a benefit to the national citizenry.
8. The repeated disregard of Texas laws by the Federal courts. In many cases, it has been the laws of Texas that have been overturned by the Supreme Court in forcing compliance with their mandates.
9. The imposition of unfunded mandates which force Texas to pay for services that were never authorized by Texans.
10. The failure of the Federal government to abide by the limitations placed on it by the Constitution with regard to the 1st, 4th, 9th, 5th and 10th amendments.
These are just some of the wrongs that have come to me off the top of my head. I am sure with with some further thinking more would come to me. Each of these items posed a significant concern to the people of Texas.
A further legal fly in the ointment is the secession question. First, the Supreme Court NEVER said that secession was illegal. They only loaded the issue down with various regulations to make it extremely difficult. If Texas played by their rules, it would be next to impossible. When Texas secedes, they will pitch a fit, whether if we do it their way or not.
Second, there is a school of thought that since we did it once, we do not need to do it again. All we need to do is to reject the occupational government and reassert our status. Technically we were a conquered and occupied nation. Like other occupied nations (Northern Ireland, Gaza, Palestine, Armenia, Scotland) foreign troops stepped in, took over the nation and began massive violations of the law in imposing their occupational government. All Texas would need to do is have a referendum vote on whether or not to reassert our status as an Independent and Sovereign nation. That way, we do not have to secede again, just reassert our status. We could even keep many of the legal rulings and laws that were dully passed by our elected representatives over the years and”Viola!” we are once more at the table of nations as the third largest nation in North America. (BTW-we would also need to repudiate the MASSIVE debts that have been imposed upon us by the Imperial overlords of the Imperial City and the Chosen One’s regime)
Free Texas!
