All politics are local

It was a joy that on visiting my polling place yesterday that a unanimous attitude existed to remove CONgress Critter Lloyd Doggett in the next election. (You can write him or call his office, but it does not make no never mind. If you disagree with him, he will ignore you or castigate you). One lady informed me that she had been at the south Austin meeting where he said he was ‘ambushed’. She said that what occurred was nothing of the sort. Since that episode, all his town halls have been VERY controlled. I find his “latest news” section amusing. He managed to twist the power grab of the feds over student loans and make it look like something that was beneficial to the citizens. He makes it look like chasing after Citizens who keep their money offshore is a good thing as well. He forgets that it is their money, not his.

Although Doggett, who supports just about any piece of legislation that takes away freedoms and gives big centralized government more power, controls his meetings, some of the other Texas Congressmen will be online for a discussion of health care later this morning. If you care to take a look at9:30 CST this morning (4 November) feel free.

It seems that voters across the state approved the Constitutional changes. How is it that the people can change the laws in Texas but not in the Union? Although some of them were dubious in that they partner with the empire to accomplish their goals, voters still fall for the idea of free monies from the federal government. Many voters have woken up to some of the issues, but we have a ways to go. To put it plainly, “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. All the monies and funding have to come from somewhere. With the empire, the money always has strings attached to it. They only use money to increase their power over the daily lives of people and make them more dependent on government.

We need a resurgence in self-reliance. Along with the self-reliance we need a government that respects boundaries and does not encroach on the private lives of the people.

Although I usually don’t take much note of what the Yankee States are up to (let ‘em mind their own houses so to speak). The people of Maine have rejected the same-sex marriage laws there. So at this juncture in every location where the people have had a vote, it has been rejected. It only seems to stick around because some politico wants to force such laws on the people.

Liberty for Texas and the South!
