A news story from the New York Times indicated that after ten years of hype, the map of the human genome has yielded few cure. This is another example of how government and government funding is not the answer. Despite the monies given out for grants, little has been accomplished. . Despite the lack of progress, the researcher heading up the genome project, which has not provided much has been selected by the Obama regime to head the National Institute of Health, which has a HUGE budget. The National Institute of Health has shelled out 40 Billion dollars on research (that is $40,000,000,000). The new head now has more money to spend and little to show for it.

This is typical of government solutions to problems. The central government is the source of problems, not the solution. The sad part is that that 40 Billion could have been used more productively. It could have been used to protect the border or pay down the debt.

As Southrons, we need to recognize the extent of waste and non-productivity foisted upon us by the Federal empire. This is just the latest in the news.
