Austin Police outbid for guns!

In a display of creativity, an activist group outbid Austin police in their “guns for groceries” program. The group showed up at the event and payed out cash for the guns. What makes this good, was that it was local Austinites who were part of the group and that the Austin police were involved. The same organization that has given gun shows so much grief were outbid for guns themselves. There is an irony in that.

Although the press were at the event, little was said of the success of the groups outbidding the police for the guns. Once again, selective news reporting at its finest.

Incidents like this give me hope for Texas. It shows free enterprise and free trade at its best!

Student Visas are life threatening!

A terrorism suspect has been arrested in Lubbock, Texas. The suspect is a (Surprise) Saudi Arabian here in Texas on a student visa. His visa was sponsored by a corporation that seeks greater cooperation between the empire and Saudi Arabia. This is just the latest fruit of the empire’s efforts to befriend the world by giving out student visas willy nilly. This latest amounts to corporate supported terrorism with the government helping them. Your tax dollars are being used to educate those who want to destroy Texans. This is not acceptable!

His blog is informative regarding knowing more about him and his sponsorship. It remains to be seen what will come of this incident or whether it will be used to derail the attempts by the State legislature to allow concealed carry on Texas campuses.

What can by gleaned from the incident is that the fruits of our liberty such as educational institutions are being shared with the world like candy. This is not in our best interests. The empire is not effectively protecting our borders, especially when it imports students like this to our colleges.

More Propaganda out of Arizona!

I could not make this stuff up. The “National Institute for Civil Discourse” has been set up by the University of Arizona. As honorary heads, they have chosen former regime heads of Clinton and George H W Bush. The preposterous aspect of having such men as heads bespeaks propaganda in LARGE PRINT. Clinton armed many Mohammedeans in the Balkans. He took American sons and daughters into harm’s way in Bosnia and Kosovo. Some civility. If you don’t do what we tell you, we will kill you diplomacy at its’ best. When the courageous Michael New (a Texan) spoke out concerning his refusal to be a tool of the UN, he was court martialed. Even though Clinton did not have the authority to send US troops in there, since Congress did not stop him, he was given de facto approval.

Look at George H W Bush, who masterminded Desert Storm/Shield as part of his diplomacy. Some civility there ‘eh. How about his lying concerning his presence in Dallas the day JFK was shot? Civil communication—no way. How about his dad’s (Prescott Bush) coordination with the Hitler’s Nazi regime?, not very civil, but according to the mainstream media, who cares? How about how George H W Bush has been buddies with the Wahabbi regime in Suadi Arabia? Some civility there. Few people remember that George H W Bush’s company, Zapata offshore was involved it the Bay of Pigs fiasco. I haven’t forgotten, but apparently those that define what civility in political discourse have.

I want to know how the Bay of Pigs, Illegal invasions of Bosnia, Meddling in the affairs of other nations and back room dealing is civility.

Southrons! Beware of such propaganda. These men were not civil, nor are they friends of the South. When the Powers that be elevate them to such positions, it is glorifying their kind of one-world mindedness and making these bloody handed butchers heroes.

We need Statesmen like Jefferson Davis or Alexander Stephens as examples of civility, not butchers like Bush and Clinton.

We need liberty rather than propaganda.

The Heartland Revolts

The news has focused on Wisconsin and how the State is handling the union pension issues. Since it is not directly related to Southern Independence, we do not have a dog in that fight. What is worth noting is that this “movement” is ‘highly’ organized and well financed. It is not a spur of the moment thing that is a sudden outburst from the people. There is a group called “Heartland Revolution” which is a democratic front organization that is actively pushing the unrest. The well made signs and protesters being shipped in is a sure sign of this ’staged’ unrest.

The unrest makes it clear that there are distinctively different values in play in that part of the empire in comparison with the South. The government in Wisconsin is looking at asking Union members to contribute more to their own pensions and more to their own health insurance. Like a temper tantrum, those affected are rising up. In many ways, it looks more like a democratic backlash at the Republican wins in November. True to their democratic ways, they take to marches and unrest, rather than win over hearts and minds in debate and at the polls.

Make no mistake, there are powers behind the protests. The protesters are being used as pawns in making some changes, and strengthening the power of the empire. The O-regime and its democratic supporters likely welcomes how they are now putting pressure on their opponents. The same cronies who organized the Obama election campaign are behind organizing the protests! That ought to tell you something. It amounts to the first major campaign stop in O’s 2012 election campaign. The teachers are showing their dedication to the indoctrination of the students by staging a walkout. Some example! When you don’t get what you want—pitch a fit and walk away!

It will be interesting to watch events unfold.

Trampling the citizens will in Baytown

Texas is home to many weird events. One of the latest is that a red light camera company is suing the city of Baytown, Texas over not giving out enough traffic tickets. The citizens voted in a referendum to prohibit their use without an officer being there to witness the event. The company doing the suing, ATS (American Traffic Solutions) does not care about the will of the people. True to their name, they operate more like an “American” oriented company in how they trample the will of the people. They want their MONEY, they don’t care that the people voted to change matters in Baytown. Such companies often use their lawyers like soldiers to force others to submit. Such lawsuit filings are an illustration of greed, pure and simple. Rather than respect the will of the people, they would rather trample the people.

We need a return to common sense. We need a government that is responsive to the people and businesses that are responsive as well. ATS is showing the people of Texas what it thinks about them.

League Lambasted at hearing of U.S. House Financial Services Committee

League of the South Statement
League of the South Lambasted at Hearing of U.S. House Financial Services Committee

15 February 2011

Washington IS an organized criminal enterprise! On Wednesday, 9 February, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) chaired his first meeting of the House Financial Services Committee in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC. The subject was the Federal Reserve and U.S. unemployment. Among those testifying before Congressman Paul’s committee was economist/historian Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo, Professor at Loyola University (Maryland). Dr. DiLorenzo is a former Fellow in the League of the South Institute and was an instructor at some of our summer institutes in the 1990s.

Among the members of the House Financial Services Committee was one William Lacy Clay (D-Missouri) who, in questioning the credentials of Dr. DiLorenzo, brought up the latter’s connections to The League of the South.

Rep. Clay then went on to say that the League is an organization that “calls the U.S. government ‘an organized criminal enterprise.‘”

League President, Dr. Michael Hill noted: “Congressman Clay, while accurate in his statement, failed to put his comment in the proper context. The League of the South has pointed out for many years the corruption in Washington, the failure of the US government to operate within the bounds of the Constitution, and the utter abandonment of the Principles that led to the creation of American Liberty. Indeed, the effects of these corrupt and failed policies on our liberty and prosperity and that of our children and grandchildren are criminal. We encourage Congressman Clay and the other 434 Congressmen to immediately correct their failure to execute their duty. In summary, the words Congressman Clay chose to use are sadly true, and we are pleased he has at least taken note. We hope, for the sake of those who have to live under this regime, that this will be a catalyst for positive change.”

Egypt, Liberty and Secession

Egypt, Liberty and Secession

By Russell D. Longcore

Dateline 2-11-11, 11:05 EST

Just a moment ago, we saw a televised news report which showed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s spokesman on state TV announcing Mubarak’s resignation and handing over governmental power to the military. Back a few days ago, I suggested that Mubarak leave the country and phone in his resignation from safer environs. Well, he’s pretty much done that today, except he ran for the eastern palace in posh Sharm al Sheikh, 250 miles from Cairo. From that location, he can go anywhere into exile.

Now the hard work begins.

I keep hearing all the talking heads say that Egyptians want democracy. That is a load of crap. Egyptians want liberty. Big difference. But they want more than liberty. There are over 80 million people in Egypt. Over 50% of them are below 30 years of age. At least 75% of those people are unemployed, barely surviving. They want to move forward economically.

Unfortunately, prosperity is not in Egypt’s future any time soon. Egypt cannot feed its own population at this time, and has been the largest buyer of American wheat for decades. Although think about it. Is that because they do not have enough arable land, or because a corrupt government has mismanaged the Egyptian agriculture for 30-plus years? And with a weak manufacturing base, it’s going to be a long time before the economy begins to rise out of the pitiful Third-World status it presently holds. Tourism represents 8% of the Egyptian economy and tourism will be directly affected by ongoing political turmoil. And without free-market reforms, the Egyptian economy is slated for more of the same.

So, will Egypt now lurch from one repressive, centrally-planned economy to another, with merely new faces in the same roles? Only time will tell. For now, a brutal dictator has been overthrown by a few hundred thousand People of Egypt.

The regime of Hosni Mubarak spanned over 30 years. Most of Egypt’s population knows no other president or government. Now that the president has resigned and the army is in charge of the temporary government, the people of Egypt should demand that a new Constitution be written for Egypt. Otherwise, this historic moment will quickly degenerate into “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” Egypt’s first president, Muhammed Naguib, led the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. The second president, Gamel Abdel Nasser, and third, Anwar el-Sadat, were cut from the same cloth as Mubarak.

I heard Washington’s President Obama (don’t miss that) speaking from a podium Thursday at Northern Michigan University. He made a big point that America supports the desire and actions of people around the world to throw off tyranny and form governments that protect their human rights…or words to that effect. This is a curious statement coming from an American president. Washington has climbed in bed with nearly every dictator of the past 75 years, sometimes installing them into power and sometimes toppling them, depending on their usefulness to our DC regime. Look around the world and see American foreign policy on the march. Washington hypocrites all SAY they support human rights but seem to back ruthless dictators, playing nation against nation in the real-life game of Risk.

Now America faces some upheaval of its own. Eventually, Washington’s government is going to collapse, the dollar will meltdown, and the economy will collapse also…not necessarily in that order. When these things happen and chaos ensues, a small handful of states will make the decision that they can survive better as independent nations than as colony/states of a failed Empire.

Some states will secede from the United States of America.

At that point, will the Washington President…no matter who it is…support the desires and actions of the citizens of certain colony/states to throw off tyranny and form governments that protect their human rights? If not, then why would Washington support liberty outside our borders but not inside our borders?

I believe that Washington will be powerless to stop secession. Look at what happened in the dissolution of the Soviet Union, second only to the USA in size and world power for most of the 20th Century. When the states of the USSR seceded in the late 1980s, the mighty Red Army did nothing to stop them. The Kremlin made no effort to stop secession. And almost overnight, the USSR was no more.

Fast forward to today’s Egypt. The Egyptian army is almost a wing of the government there. No dictator can rule without their support. And in the early days of the demonstrations (last weekend!!), they did roll out tanks into the streets and fly fighter jets over the downtown Cairo square. But conventional military equipment had no effect. Was a tank going to fire on the crowd? Were fighter jets going to drop bombs into the square? No and No. Mubarak could have ordered the army to clear the square by whatever means necessary. But it would appear that, even if he desired bloodshed, the generals did not agree.

So do not let this lesson go unlearned. In a nation of over 80 million people, less than one million demonstrators in the capitol city caused the collapse of a repressive government in less than 10 days.

Could the same thing happen in the USA? I doubt it. First, we are a confederacy of colony/states [not any more - not since 1865] under a central government as opposed to being a single nation. So, Washington’s power is somewhat protected by our form of government. Secondly, DC’s officials know that Americans won’t try to overthrow Washington’s government because Americans are mostly sheep. And thirdly, economic collapse has not happened yet, so none of us knows what will occur once it does.

But the question is not whether the Washington DC government should be overthrown. I do not believe it should. I believe that colony/states should secede from the United States of America and leave the USA to its own demise. There are far too many benefits in secession, and far too few downsides to remain an American colony/state. After the American economy collapses under the weight of Federal regulation, taxation and hyperinflation, the possibility of secession will be on the lips of most Americans.

Secession is the Hope For Mankind. Who will be first?

Intolerance at Dallas County Commisioners Court

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price lost control and told those disagreeing with him that they could all ‘go to hell’. What makes matters worse is that he predicated his statement with “all of you are white. Go to hell!“.

The councilman’s outburst shows a lack of self-restraint along with a disdain of constituents. His bias is clear and plain. He was duly elected by his district, which says something about the people who select such a person to represent them and their values. When elected officials show such gutter thinking and trash talk in a public meeting, it shows their true character.

When such gutter talking persons are lifted up in a community, they become role models. If this is the role model of that portion of Dallas, there are some major problems in that area, which is behaving more like a third world nation, than a major city in the empire.

We need decency and self-restraint in our elected officials. Such juvenile displays are for junior high schools and not county commissioner’s court. It is no wonder that so many cities are going through crisis with such poor displays of leadership. Rather than hear out those disagreeing with him, he resorted to name calling and insults.

We need help, we need the Lord and decent morals in our leaders.

More wrong headed thinking from Senator Van de Putte

Texas Senator Leticia Van de Putte is at it again. This time, instead of praising people who are undermining Texas values and culture, she is attacking the idea of checking people’s ID’s when voting. She claims that 10 nuns were not allowed to vote in Indiana due to such requirements. Van de Putte did not mention that they could have voted by mail or use alternative methods. Instead, she used the example as a straw man in the debates on voter id. She is apparently more worried about ten nuns in Indiana that the thousands of illegal voters in Texas, which is telling regarding her values.

She is also concerned that some of the power companies may have made some money in the recent blackouts, rather than focus on how the O-regime has been using the EPA to strong arm Texas power plants which created the mess in the first place.

Leticia Van de Putte has plenty of wrong headed solutions for Texas as she continues pushing the demokratic party line to push us toward greater socialism.

We need liberty for Texas. We need Texas to decide who can and can not vote in elections rather than the Imperial City. We need less federal bureaucracy and more local control of important issues. We need politicians to mind their own business rather than meddle in our affairs.
