The true colours of the Texas Legislators

The Texas Legislature is now done. In the session and following special session, we saw the true colours of many elected officials. On reading reports of how the Speaker of the House watered down the TSA legislation and was involved in parliamentarian shenanigans, it is no wonder it did not pass. We also saw how the Lt. Governor showed more loyalty to the Imperial City than to Texas as well. You can rest assured that he is not on my list of people to support in the next election. We do not need another carpetbagger in either the Imperial City or Austin. Although some decent bills came out, it was definitely politics as usual, with all kinds of accounting gimmicks used to continue complying with unconstitutional and unfunded federal mandates ( I like the term imperial dictates better, it more accurately describes them for what they are).

By no means is this the first time that many in the Texas Legislature have been bought out with federal monies. When Texas was considering the vote on whether or not to join the Union, they were bought out as well. They sold their souls in 1845, and many Texas sons paid for it in blood fifteen years later. The President of Texas, Anson Jones complained about the interference of US money and US agents in Texas politics then. Now, about 170 years later, they are still meddling in Texas politics.

Bottom line, the US meddles. They meddle where they have no right to. Whether it is Greece, Somalia, Iran, Israel or some other foreign nation, that does not stop them. They disrespect national sovereignty all over the world. Should we be surprised that they continue disrespecting State sovereignty or the dignity of the citizens? It is their nature to meddle. If you question them on it, they will question your patriotism, your intelligence or just call you names.

The recent session shows where their loyalties lie. It shows what their priorities are and how they play games. When the election comes, those like Speaker Strauss will make it sound like they did everything to pass good laws and stand up for Texas. We know better. We saw you and your ilk sell your soul to the Yankee dollar and Yankee control.

We need elected officials who will remain true to their oaths, true to their districts, and true to Texas.

Judicial Tyranny Strikes Again!

The federal judiciary has struck again. Federal district judge Thomas Thrash (no, it is not a joke) struck down portions of the recently passed Georgia immigration law. It seems that when the feds do not like some of the laws, they merely strike them down. As Texans we need to remember that it was the federal judges that took away our abortion laws, our sodomy laws, our jurisdiction over schools, our freedom to pray in school, our freedom to pray at graduations, our jurisdiction over Texas prisons and numerous other areas. The feds have even taken the stand of discouraging volunteers at the VA cemetery in Houston from saying “God bless you”.

Many Southern States have taken brave stands, but the meddling federal judiciary strikes down what we have done. If the people of Georgia or Texas want certain laws in place, it is not for the federal judiciary to over-ride the choices of the people of those states. We need a return of nullification, so that the States begin striking down needless and meddlesome federal laws. Imagine what nullification would do to gun bans, light bulb bans, health care, schools, water rights, and property rights. Nullification will expand liberty among the people rather than strip it away as the federal judiciary seems bent on doing.

It does no good to pass good laws, if the federal judges strike them down. We need to exercise our rights to strike down meddlesome federal regulations. Nullification would also take away power from Congress and the President. It would bring the power back down to the States and the People. The local people would decide what is taught and done in the schools, not Washington. The local people would decide congressional districts, without Washington’s interference. The local land owners would decide how best to use their property, not the federal government. This is common sense, this is Constitutional. We need nullification.

Nullification Now!

The new American values

The empire sends young men and women to foreign nations to fight for and promote American values and freedom. Have you ever considered what those values are? If you assume, the freedom to worship, the ten commandments, and the Constitution, you are dead wrong. The American values that are promoted by the empire and forced on other nations are not those. You are mislead if you think that values promoted by today’s American troops are the same as those of the 1940’s. If you think that they are fighting for freedom, you may want to think about “Whose freedom?” and “What kind of freedom?”

I became rudely aware of this when I saw that the State Department had assisted Lady Gaga in becoming a featured performer at Rome’s gay pride march. My initial thoughts were how outrageous it was that the State Department had become a public relations firm. I thought the State Department was to promote American policy, as defined by the regime throughout the world. Then it hit me! The State Department is doing its job. The American values that our young men and women are defending are not what you thought they were. The new American values are multiculturalism, tolerance, alternative lifestyles and the promotion of anti-family perversions. These are the values of the Obama regime and the new America. These are the values that are being pushed around the world. Just take a look at superman, who renounced his US citizenship and now fights with a mohammedean super hero.

Just look at the head of the regime and how many dignitaries he has bowed in submission to. Look at who he has kowtowed to and what their values are.

This forth of July, when you see others drape their towns and selves in the American flag, consider what values that flag currently represents and promotes. What the regime says and what it does are two different things. It saddens me to think that so many people who served in World War II and other wars still cherish what they consider traditional American values, while the regime has totally changed those values and is promoting something else. Behind all the rhetoric about American values and the need to support them is something vile and perverted. Look at the values being promoted by the regime, NOT what they say. Look at how they are re-orienting the military and government agencies to their new values. Look at what they are promoting in schools. Look at their attacks on the ten commandments, the right to bear arms, the right to life. Compare the difference between what is being said and what is being promoted.

Southrons have always been suspicious of the stripped banner and for a good reason. They often knew what the true values were. Lady Gaga is the poster child of the new American values. Those are the values for which our children are in harm’s way.

We need a revival! We need people to wake up and return to their altars to call out to God Almighty! The promotion of wickedness continues getting worse and worse. The State Department IS promoting the new American policy and values.

May God have mercy on those who have blindly supported the new values without realizing it.

Something stinks in Austin!

As the legislature winds down, there were some odd happenings in the session. The American Law for American Courts Bill was tampered with repeatedly. Although it passed the House three times, each time it reached the Senate, the important parts were stripped out in . Even though it went to the Senate three times, each time to a different committee, the important parts were stripped out each time. In the last go-round, a reference was made to a treaty that the proposed bill would interfere with. (I didn’t know anything about a treaty to keep us from using US laws in US courts-did you?). Oddly enough the only common denominator in all the removal of key portions was the Lt. Governor. (hey, wasn’t he the guy that messed up the anti-groping bill in the regular session? Yes, he is one and the same). The latest anti-groping bill has been stripped of powerful language so that now it is only a showpiece rather than a significant measure.

It seems that some elected officials care more about maintaining status quo than actually forwarding the concerns of the people, increasing their liberties and protecting them.

Let us hope that by the time the final versions pass, that the good parts have not been stripped out. The old saying is “The devil is in the details”. It seems that in Austin, some of the legislators and elected officials have removed the good details from some important bills.

We need more liberty. We need more courageous legislators. We need to remember this come the next state wide elections.

We can’t cut our way to prosperity

The head of the regime recently stated that “We can’t cut our way to prosperity!” To the average Southron, his statement is a blatant lie. We all know that the key to prosperity in the South is to get the feds out of Dixie. In the long run, that is the only really workable solution.

When you recall that he is trained as a lawyer. From a lawyer/politician standpoint, he is telling the truth. There is no way that politicians are going to become prosperous with budget cuts. Politicians only experience prosperity and power when they tax and spend. He is protecting his ‘political butt’. His solution is the problem. His statement is a prime example of the attitude of the imperial city. He does not want to make the hard choices about priorities and exercise real statesmanship by cutting unnecessary programs. Instead, he wants to continue the political machine and go further into debt. Debt is one of the things keeping us from seceding. Debt is one of the things holding the states bound to one another. he knows that. As the nation starts fragmenting, he is gluing it together by going in debt and recreating slavery, but of a financial-driven type. He is doing more to manufacture slaves than his admired Lincoln did to free them.

We need a free South. We need less federal government in Dixie. We need less federal regulations. We need more liberty.

Strauss shows his colours

Texas Speaker of the House, Joe Strauss showed his true colours today with the TSA anti-groping bill. He said, “The bill, without some serious revisions, appears to me to be nothing more than an ill-advised publicity stunt, unenforceable…[and] misdirected at uniform security personnel,” He continued that the bill should be aimed “at Washington, at the bosses of these people.”

Straus whimped! That is all there is to it. Given the Constitution (10th amendment) gives the power to the States, he is not only whimping on the bill, he is wrong in his interpretation of Constitutional law. I guess that his main job is to protect the people of Texas and not protecting the ‘uniform security personnel’. He is more concerned with protecting the brown shirts of the TSA than he is of protecting Texans. I wonder if he will feel the same if his two daughters were groped by the TSA goons?

The legislators of Texas should have known about Strauss. When all the commotion arose regarding his receiving funds from the murderous planned parenthood and refused to take a pro-life stand, it was clear that he was more concerned about status quo rather than the will of the people. Strauss has already shown that he sold out, when he kowtowed to the democrats in the last session, giving them plum committee assignments in return for their support for his speakership. It should not surprise anyone that Joe Strauss sells out again and the people of Texas lose again. Other men from San Antonio stood up for the people of Texas, but not Joe Strauss.

We need representatives that are willing to protect Texans. We need representatives that hold to their principles. We need representatives who will not allow Texans to be manhandled and groped by people, just because they are in uniform.

NPR loves Obama and compares him to Lincoln

In the latest display of admiration, NPR has gone so far as to compare the head of the Obama regime’s Afghanistan speech to the tyrant Abraham Lincoln’s speeches. Funny thing, both men lied in their speeches. They used rhetorical gimmicks to trick the populous into accepting their tyrannical policies. When the public did not accept them willingly, they were forced to do so. Although NPR makes the comparison out of admiration for the tyrant. Truth be known, a true Southron disdains Lincoln, so a comparison of Obama with Lincoln amounts to a race to the bottom of the barrel. Both men’s policies are despised and hated by lovers of liberty, so comparing Obama to Lincoln is no compliment in the South. It amounts to comparing types of manure. Do you want it fresh or seasoned? So the association of Obama to Lincoln is spot on in the South, where both are held in low regard.

Lincoln used strong arm tactics, so does Obama. Lincoln used rhetorical tricks, so does Obama. Lincoln conducted illegal wars, so does Obama. Lincoln loved the war powers act, so does Obama. It is readily apparent that Obama does mimic Lincoln in many ways.

I find the article fascinating on several levels. The liberal media continues being enamored with Obama, and also reveres Lincoln. The neo-cons despise Obama and revere Lincoln, seeing the comparison as ludicrous, while Southrons despise both Obama and Lincoln. The comparison made by NPR makes sense to the liberals and to Southrons, but for different reasons. The article and responses to it reveal some significant chasms in how groups view Lincoln.

I am reminded of the saying that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

We Southrons know the true Lincoln and also know the true Obama.

Creative Solutions on the light bulb

Some Texas lawmakers have come up with a creative measure that allows Texans to skirt the federal regulations on light bulbs. Perry may end up undoing the screwing that Lloyd Doggett and the other democratic lawmakers gave to us. The bill was passed and sent on to Governor Perry for his signature. The measure allows Texans to use incandescent bulbs provided that they are made in Texas. I posted a link to an news article on it. The comments are quite instructive regarding the nanny mindset. There are some people who really want more federal control.

The bill is a creative solution, but not a lasting one. The lasting solution would be to remove the feds and their laws out of Texas. The problem is the encroachment of federal authority into the lives of private citizens. Rather than protecting the borders and allowing free commerce, they instead regulate, control, grope and want more. They also want to regulate OTC sales of gold, which amounts to further restrictions on the marketplace. They are using agencies like the EPA and TSA to harass businesses and individuals rather than protecting us and enhancing our liberties, which they were originally supposed to do.

We need more liberty regarding light bulbs, free trade, commerce, etc., not less.

Let us hope that Perry signs the bill. Of course, such groups as the Natural Resource Defense Council (an environmental group headquartered in New York) want him to veto the bill. This group also wants more cap and trade and are willing to grow a bigger federal government with environmental meddling.

Everything would be better with less federal meddling.

Empire’s boots on Texas throats: The EPA vs Texas war

The heavy boot of the empire is on the throat of Texas again! In the latest usurping of Constitutional authority, the EPA has implemented rulings regarding sulphur dioxide that strangle power companies in Texas. One area that will be hit hard is that of electricity generation. Rather than have Texas become a shining light and lead economic recovery, the Obama regime and the EPA want to hamstring Texas. The regulations will increase electricity cost, and lead to further job losses.

What makes matters worse is that the EPA did not allow public comments or input before implementing the regulations. (No free speech here folks). Although public comment periods are allowed before major changes, this one came without any comments.

In politics, nothing happens by accident. Even the timing of such heavy handed policies. What remains to be seen is whether this is the Obama regime yanking Perry’s chain and telling him to back down, or if the Obama regime is doing everything in his power to stifle economic recovery so that we will accept his policies without question. I just wonder where are all those CONgress critters who talk so much about protecting people when the EPA and the Obama regime do things like this? I know where Lloyd Doggett is. He was just praising the EPA on what they are doing and wanting them to do MORE!

Compare this with Ted Poe, who acknowledges that the EPA is at war with Texas and denounces them for their heavy handedness.

The choices are clear folks. Some of the CONgress critters are aiding and abetting the EPA in its war against Texas, while others are standing up to the EPA.

We do not need CONgress critters wanting the EPA to do more to Texas- We need CONgress critters to tell them to do less!

We need the Feds out of Texas! We need less Federal regulation and meddling!

We need liberty! We need a free South, where the people can be productive and earn a living for their families rather than expect handouts from the government troughs.

Remembering the significance of Juneteenth

On June 19, 1865, General Gordon Granger of the United States Army arrived in Galveston. Upon his arrival, he proclaimed himself Governor of Texas and that Texas was then under the occupation of the federal government. As part of that occupation, all the proclamations, including the Emancipation Proclamation were then in force in Texas. The arrival of Granger signaled that the last Confederate State had been occupied. In his case, the limits of his authority were Texas. So in this case, ‘official’ slavery in Texas ended that day.

The common myth is that on that day, all the slavery in the United States ended. That is not true. The Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery in the unoccupied Confederacy. The last State to end slavery was Kentucky in December of 1865 with the passage of the 13th amendment. The State of Delaware was also a place where slavery continued after the Juneteenth proclamation.

Although the federal government officially prohibited the enslavement of blacks, two kinds of forced labor continued in force. Debt slavery and forced prison labor continued until the 1920’s (July 1, 1928 to be exact) when they were officially ended in a legal sense. Under those systems, criminals and debtors could be forced into service as payment for small debts.

Juneteenth is the day the federal government officially took over Texas. Never mind whether Texas was legally a State or not, the feds took it over. They also eradicated Constitutional rights. Never mind what the Constitution says, they are going to do what they wish. It was law by proclamation. The danger is that the same government took away Constitutional rights before and they can do it again. Let us remember the lessons of Juneteenth. Yes, it ended a terrible system which needed to end, it also ended the omnipotence of the Constitution as the law of the land.

Rather than get sucked into the myths surrounding Juneteenth, which have been twisted to all kinds of new meanings. Know what happened and the significance of those events.
